Practicum Intensive

Many previous course participants have wanted more practice teaching experience at the end of their TESOL course, in addition to the 6 hours included in the TESOL certificate courses. In response to this, Rennert offers 2 weeks of additional practice teaching experience. You will have an extra 4 hours of practice teaching, plus guided lesson planning and post-teaching feedback with the trainer and some of your peers. Lessons include teaching writing, teaching multi-skilled lessons, using course books plus an additional lesson of your choice.

You will also observe at least 10 hours of experienced teachers’ lessons. This is an invaluable opportunity to get additional teaching ideas, see what teaching different levels and courses involves and have focused guidance to maximize this learning opportunity.

2 weeks. Total 80 hours. 9:00am – 6:00pm, Monday – Friday

This course is designed as an add-on to any TESOL certificate course but can also be taken as a stand-alone course. It can be taken by native speakers or non-native speakers of English, though due to the demanding nature of the course, potential students are required to have a TESOL Certificate and demonstrate at least a high intermediate level of English in a phone interview with the Head of Teacher Training before they are accepted.

A highly recommended option is to combine your basic TESOL course with supplemental specialty courses to take the Total TESOL Package.
