Dan Chiel received a Bachelor's Degree from Harvard University and subsequently studied acting and music. He has worked as an actor in New York and regional theaters and had a parallel career as a software specialist and trainer with several New York law firms. His fascination with language and culture, combined with his love of teaching, led him to study the teaching of English as a Second Language and to his current position at Rennert.
Dan has been instrumental in creating Rennert's Practical English in the Working World Program (PEWW) curriculum. In the PEWW Program students learn how to use English in the workplace to share information, solve problems, learn skills, develop relationships, enjoy conversations. This is done by practicing specific tasks like telephoning, negotiating, making presentations, and socializing; and by talking, talking, talking about everything that matters to people in the class.
