The world famous French Culinary Institute at the International Culinary Center in New York City's SoHo neighborhood has been training some of the world's most talented chefs and bakers. Rennert and FCI have partnered to create three part-time amateur courses in cooking to expand your horizons while you learn valuable skills in the kitchen and practice your English. All courses include uniform, tool kit, materials and supplies. This course is open to Intermediate level students. No previous cooking experience is necessary.
Essentials of Fine Cooking (4 weeks)
During this intense, 40-hour class, you will learn valuable cooking techniques from experienced chefs such as marinades, poaching, braising, sautéing, grilling and knife skills. Put these skills to work to create 25 delicious recipes that you'll share with your classmates in a "family meal." No previous experience necessary.
Chocolate Desserts (2 weeks)
Everyone loves chocolate! Become a superstar as you learn expert techniques and recipes to make deep, dark chocolate, and decadent chocolate desserts, plus a few decorating tips to make your creations stand out.
Parisian Breads (1 week)
Ooh-la-la! Paris is known for its delicious baguettes, brioches and croissants. In just 12 hours, students learn how to mix, shape, proof and bake a variety of French breads. Learn valuable baking skills from professional baking instructors and practice your English in this fun and interesting course.
